You can learn the craft of stained glass in 2 ways, in a class or individually.

I teach classes on stained glass through the Continuing Education Program at McNeese State University. I offer 2 classes on stained glass, beginners and intermediate.

Beginning Stained Glass is offered twice a year, in the spring and the fall. The classes are 6 weeks long and cover the basics of creating stained glass. Here is a breakdown of the class schedule and what we do.

Week 1. Introduction to glass cutting.

Week 2. Assembly of a leaded panel.

Week 3. Soldering the leaded panel.

Week 4. Cementing the leaded panel and introduction to the copper foil method.

Week 5. Soldering the copper foil projects.

Week 6. Finishing all the projects and having a party.

In Intermediate Stained Glass we get into more difficult projects…

Week 1. Cutting the parts for a glass kaleidoscope.

Week 2. Assembling the kaleidoscope.

Week 3. Cutting the parts for a stained glass mission lamp.

Week 4. Assembling the lampshade and lamp.

Week 5. Introduction to glass fusing (At my studio)

Week 6. Assembling the fused project, which is a fused and beveled box.

The other option for learning is to purchase a Stained Glass Starter Kit. This is something I developed for folks who cannot attend the classes. This kit includes all the tools and supplies that are necessary for learning the craft. I have the complete step by step instructions on video so one can see how this is done. The complete kit costs $300. Including Shipping to any where in the continental US. Here is a list of what comes with the kit:
