How I operate…

Ok  you've found this web site, you have seen some stuff that you may be interested in and want to know more information, What next?
This is no big time fancy studio, so I do not have full color catalogs, or mass marketing information.  Nor do I belong to some fancy organization. Because all of my projects are custom,  this stuff is not necessary, nor would it do any good.  This web site is my brochure and catalog, it contains all the general information about what I do, how much it costs, and how I operate.  Here is a step by step list of how a custom project is delivered to you…

1.)  Call  me or Email your name, address, and what you are interested in.  Give me      something to work with, design ideas, sizes, type of project, etc.
2.)  Once I know these things, I can give you an idea of price and when I can get to your project.
3.)  If these are satisfactory to you, and you are serious about the inquiry, I can send a colored sketch and a contract for you free of charge.  (Please note that I receive lots of requests for this service, and because I am only one person, I can only do so much in a 24 hour day.  I have sent out many drawings and never heard from them again. If I do this for you, I would expect at least a reply.)
4.)  If you approve the design, and want to schedule the work, a signed contract and a payment of 50% is required for me to start.  Now I can give you an actual completion date, do the project an keep you posted on the progress.
5.)  The final payment will be due upon delivery.

There is a mutual trust involved here.  I can provide references to past customers who have had me work for them who would love to tell you how much they are satisfied with the one on one service that they have received.  My phone number is a direct line, you may have to leave a message but, you do not have to press #2 for customer service then press #6 for an agent, then #3 for...leaving a message anyway...you get the picture.

Pricing…

I tried to post the prices for each project.  This has a two-fold purpose, one is to reduce the amount of requests for pricing and the other is to give you a general idea about how much I charge for my services.
Stained glass is usually priced by the square foot, starting at $75 up to $175.  Now you have to realize that there are several variables to consider in order to estimate your project.  Large projects for churches, commercial buildings or even residential projects, I can do for less because of quantity.  8 windows are cheaper per square foot than 1.  The Bishops Coat of Arms costs $175 per foot because of the beveling and fusing involved. Every project is unique,  so to get an accurate price I have to know sizes, amount of detail, and how much work is involved.
Doors are priced a little differently.  Wood costs as well as availability have a lot to do with this.  The degree of difficulty, as well as size are also variables to consider.   The doors on this site are all designed by me and are unique and one of a kind.   I will repeat a design but I would have to change something in it.  I have shipped doors to many parts of the USA.

Scheduling…
I normally have a waiting list.  So it is important for you to contact me early in your plans.  In all fairness, I can only schedule projects that have had deposits paid.  I work on one project at a time, this is not a factory, nor do I mass produce anything.  I take tremendous pride in all of my work, and you can be assured that the quality in workmanship and materials will be there for generations.

Installation and Shipping…
These are extra charges and depend on how far you are away from me. For example, I installed 8 stained glass windows in a church near Tuscalousa, Alabama which is 600 miles away for $1200.

Another option is for me to get the work to you is just ship it in a great big crate. Then you can get local craftsman to install the work for you. In freight collect, you pay the shipping company the cost. None of it comes to me. I can give better estimates if you give me your zip code.
